Libyan MB & al-Qaeda show support for Basit Igtet

Basit Igtet meeting Muslim_Brotherhood led by Mohamad Sawan. In the meeting also, Tunisia Muslim Brotherhood leader R. Ghannouchi.

Some supporters of the Libyan branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, & Shura Council-al-Qaeda in Libya, took to the streets of Libya’s capital Tripoli, Green/Martyrs’ Square, to show support for Basit Igtet. Basit Igtet is married to Sara Bronfman, who’s father Edgar was the treasurer & chief executive of the World Jewish Congress (WJC). Basit Igtet anounced his intentions to run for president, & called upon his supporters to take to the streets on the 25th, as he arrived in Libya traveling from his resident country of Switzerland.

It is estimated that Sara Bronfman has funneled more than $100 million of her assets into NXIVM. NXIVM has been described as a brainwashing cult. In a video of the leader Keith Raniere, he appears to make indirect death threats, when his leadership is questioned.
“I’ve had people killed because of my beliefs & because of their beliefs”:

Richard Branson has permitted his name and a quotation to be used in connection with NXIVM.

Basit Igtet meeting with John McCain. 2011 Benghazi?

2011 meeting in Benghazi McCain calls Islamists his heroes.

In Lieberman’s final days as a senator, a reporter asked him if he would become a lobbyist. “No, I’m not going to do that,” he replied. But in November 2013, as Politico reported at the time, his law firm signed up as a foreign agent for Basit Igtet, a Libyan businessman and activist who was considering running for prime minister in Libya. Igtet made his money through assorted ventures in Switzerland, where his family had sought exile. He married Sara Bronfman, the daughter of Edgar Bronfman, who had been the billionaire chairman of Seagram and the president of the World Jewish Congress. The foreign agent registration form filed at the Justice Department noted that Lieberman would be part of the team handling this $100,000 project that would provide “government relations services” to Igtet.

A Benghazi native, Igtet was a long-shot candidate for prime minister. As Forbes noted, “Igtet believes he’s got the technocratic prowess to transform his country of six million people from the brink of civil war into the crown jewel of northern Africa. But skeptics say his status as a longtime expatriate and his lack of national security experience leave him ill-prepared to grasp control of deteriorating relations among warring rebel factions, police and the army.” And having a Jewish wife was probably not an asset. motherjones.com

*17 Sep* General: “only 4 or 5” U.S. backed moderate rebels

Army General Lloyd Austin, in charge of the anti-ISIS war effort from the U.S. Central Command, testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee on Wednesday that only “four or five” members of the U.S.-trained moderate rebel force are still fighting the Islamic State in Syria. breitbart.com

US-backed Syrian rebels say they have been hit by Russian airstrikes theguardian.com

if-fsa-an
The U.S. led coalition’s pretext for airstrikes in Syria is the fight against ISIL, not Assad. The only “anti-Assad” forces left in Syria are either ISIL, or al-Nusra, & a few factions also aligned with al-Qaeda. It appears as though the U.S. are trying to deter Russia from attacking core al-Qaeda (al-Nusra), & wanting them to focus on rogue al-Qaeda (ISIL). In general it appears to be a media campaign with US-NATO countries trying undermine Russian efforts to fight terrorism. It is seen by some as a threat to U.S exceptionalism. The Syria “crisis” (engineered destabilization) was originally designed as the indirect attack on Iran, & a step towards war with Iran. The U.S. & co are not happy about the liquidation of their death squads, some hoping they would be used against Iran at a later date. The U.S. is in a state dissonance where they want to distance themselves from being seen as, a supporter of terrorism in hopes of provoking regime change, while at the same time protecting their terrorist assets on the ground.

Fmr advisor to Ukraine’s Defense Minister defects to Donbass

A onetime aide to the Ukrainian defense minister has defected to the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, taking along his entire family and a wealth of classified information, Russian media reported Monday.

“I am Alexander Kolomiyets, a Major-General of the Ukrainian armed forces… My latest position was that of an advisor to the Ukrainian Defense Minister and a senior defense analyst,” the General said during a news conference at the Donetsk News Agency headquarters on Monday.

Alexander Kolomiyets said that he had spent 19 years serving as the military commandant of Donetsk Region.

He also said that many of his fellow commanders were ready to join the pro-independence militia in Donbass.

The General added that Ukrainian army morale was extremely low with “all Generals and officers realizing the criminal nature of Kiev’s actions and refusing to fight any longer.”

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry confirmed General Kolomiyets’ defection to the indepndence supporters in Donbass, RIA Novosti reported. sputniknews.com

Libyan luxury hotel attacked in the name of asset al-Libi

In an email sent out after a phone call between the two leaders, the White House insisted the invasion was about “helping provide the Libyan people an opportunity to transform their country, by installing a democratic system that respects the people’s will.”

That “democratic system” has produced chaos, terror, and social and political disintegration.

Latest example: a brutal attack on the Corinthia Hotel in the Libyan capital of Tripoli, supposedly targeting militia-backed Prime Minister Hassi and foreign diplomats.

A number of gunmen stormed the luxury hotel after detonating a car bomb outside the building. The attack killed three and injured six.

The corporate media, following the lead of U.S. government intelligence contractor the SITE Intelligence Group, claims the attack was the work of a group that supports ISIS and was carried out in the name of Abu Anas al-Libi, the supposed al-Qaeda computer specialist who reportedly died after his capture by U.S. Army Delta Force soldiers in Tripoli back in October 2013. It is said al-Libi was an al-Qaeda operative involved in the bombing of U.S. embassies in Africa.

The New York Times reports:

A group calling itself the Tripoli Province of the Islamic State, the extremist group that has seized territory in Syria and Iraq, issued a statement on social media claiming responsibility for the attack just as it was beginning. The group portrayed the assault as retaliation for the abduction last year by American commandos of a Libyan Qaeda operative, Nazih Abdul-Hamed al-Ruqai, also known as Abu Anas al-Libi.

Mr. Ruqai, 50, died this month in a New York hospital of complications from liver surgery as he was waiting to stand trial for a role in the Qaeda bombings of the American Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998.

Left unmentioned in the reportage on the death of al-Libi is his linkage to western intelligence. He was connected to another prominent intelligence asset, Ali Mohamed, and was paid to assassinate Libyan leader Colonel Mu’ammar al-Qadhafi.

Al-Libi was allowed to live openly in Britain until 2000. He was associated with MI6 asset L’Houssaine Kherchtou, an al-Qaeda member who later turned witness for a U.S. trial and was trained in surveillance techniques in Pakistan by CIA operative Mohamed in 1992.

The Tripoli Province of the Islamic State is connected to the CIA and Saudi effort to topple the al-Assad government in Syria.

The group “has been bolstered by the return to Libya from Syria and Iraq of up to 300 Libyan jihadists who were part of ISIS’ al Battar Brigade — deployed at first in Deir Ezzor in Syria and then Mosul in Iraq. These fighters supported the Shura Council for the Youth of Islam in Derna, a pro-ISIS faction,” CNN reported in November.

In June, it was reported that members of ISIS were trained in 2012 by U.S. instructors working at a secret base in Jordan. infowars.com

Russia & China wonder when America will attack them

The United States’ recklessly aggressive posture towards Russia and China has put them in a position where they are wondering when Washington will attack them, an American political commentator says.

Don DeBar, an anti-war activist and radio host in New York, made the remarks in a phone interview with Press TV on Monday while commenting on a retired US Navy admiral’s assertion that the US should keep its nuclear weapons in European countries in the wake of Russian activities in Ukraine.

Hezbollah: U.S. not serious about fight against ISIL

Deputy Secretary-General of the Lebanese Hezbollah Resistance Movement Sheikh Naim Qassem lambasted the US for its lack of serious fight against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), and stressed that Washington only means to weaken the terrorist group.

“Since the beginning, the US supported the ISIL and thought that it can use the group for confronting the Islamic Republic of Iran and the regional nations to rearrange the regional structure. They attempted to overthrow the Syrian government and annihilate it by the help of this group (but failed),” Qassem told FNA on Tuesday.
is9728_535981573198462_2805005872844724726_nvideo
He said the US felt endangered when it saw the ISIL has grown so powerful that it has surrounded swathes of land in Syria and Iraq and was threatening Washington’s interests. “And now the US is after weakening the role of the ISIL to control it but it’s not after its annihilation.”

Qassem said that the United States’ actual policy on the ISIL will be revealed in the next few days.

The ISIL has seized parts of Northern Iraq and Syria so far. The terrorist group has been committing heinous crimes in the captured areas, including the mass execution of civilians.

Iranian officials have on many occasions underlined that the ISIL is a protégé of the US and its regional allies, specially Israel and Saudi Arabia, and said that the US was merely pretending to be fighting the ISIL in Iraq.

“The ISIL terrorist group is a joint product of the US, the Zionist regime and Saudi Arabia in the region and there is no doubt in this,” Rapporteur of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Seyed Hossein Naqavi Hosseini told FNA on Sunday.

He described the US airstrikes against the ISIL’s positions in Iraq as a political and military gesture.

In relevant remarks last month, Naqavi Hosseini cautioned that the ISIL terrorist group was taking advantage of differences among different political groups in the Middle East in the interest of Israel.

“The ISIL is a protégé of the security services of the US and Saudi Arabia, and is pursuing the Zionist regime’s objectives as its infantry force,” Naqavi Hosseini said.

He pointed to Iraq’s political developments, and said, “The Takfiri terrorists declared the so-called Islamic caliphate by misusing the differences existing among Iraq’s parties and exactly at the time when the country was preparing to form a (new) government after the elections.”

Naqavi Hosseini noted that the Muslim countries of the region should help Iraq in all areas once the new government starts work. farsnews.com

Kiev claims Putin, Poroshenko agree on ceasefire in E.Ukraine

Kiev retracted its earlier statement regarding a “permanent ceasefire” in eastern Ukraine, which followed a phone call between the Russian and Ukrainian leaders. The new wording from Poroshenko’s office talks of a ceasefire “regime”.

The Russian and Ukrainian languages use the word to mean “mode”, signifying the possibility of a softer, less permanent version of the previous suggestion.

Although an earlier corresponding message from Poroshenko’s office initially talked of a “permanent ceasefire”, Putin’s spokesperson Dmitry Peskov underlined that this wording is not applicable because Russia isn’t a party to the violence.

“In the course of today’s phone call between Putin and Poroshenko there was indeed an exchange of views that went a long way toward an agreement on steps to be taken for a swift end to the clashes taking place between the Ukrainian military and south-eastern uprising,” Peskov said.

But the spokesperson thought it important to point out that because the conflict is an internal one – and not one between two countries. This view has already been voiced by President Putin last week in Minsk, where he met the Ukrainian leader.

“Frankly speaking, we can’t frame the discussion in ceasefire terms, those concerning any possible negotiations between Kiev, Donetsk and Lugansk – this isn’t any of our business, it is Ukraine’s,” the Russian president said then.

Donetsk authorities say they are willing to engage in a diplomatic settlement with Kiev if it proves its commitment to peace by stopping the shelling.

Ukraine’s Aydar battalion has acknowledged its readiness to carry out the order to cease fire, if such an order is given, its commander Sergey Melnichuk told local TV channel ‘112 Ukraine’. rt.com

Fidel Castro claims Mossad is behind the Islamic State

Former Cuban leader Fidel Castro claimed on Monday that the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad was behind the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group, AFP reports.

Castro’s claims were made in a column published in Cuban media in which he lashed out at the United States and Europe and accused them of war-mongering. He also compared the NATO military alliance’s representatives to the Nazi SS.

Castro also attacked U.S. Senator John McCain over United States policy in the Middle East, calling him “Israel’s most unconditional ally.”

He singled out McCain, the 2008 Republican presidential candidate, saying he had supported Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency and “participated together with that service in the creation of the Islamic State, which today controls a considerable and vital portion of Iraq and reportedly one-third of Syria as well.”

He accused the West of “cynicism” and said the trait had become “a symbol of imperialist policy,” according to AFP.

Turning to NATO, Castro said the alliance’s representatives were reminiscent of Nazi Germany’s feared SS.

“Many people are astonished when they hear the statements made by some European spokesmen for NATO when they speak with the style and face of the Nazi SS,” he charged.

“Adolf Hitler’s greed-based empire went down in history with no more glory than the encouragement provided to NATO’s aggressive and bourgeois governments, which makes them the laughing stock of Europe and the world,” added Castro.

Last month, Castro compared Israel’s military operation in Gaza to a “disgusting form of fascism”.

He later signed an international manifesto “supporting Palestine” and demanding that Israel respect UN resolutions and withdraw from “Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem.”

Several other famous anti-Israel activists, including Bolivian President Evo Morales, Argentine artist and Nobel Peace Prize winner Adolfo Perez Esquivel, Cuban dancer Alicia Alonso and American writer Alice Walker, were also among the signatories.
